July 4th Activities



Wondering what to do for your July 4th celebration? 

Look NO further!

With thanks to our local Kansas City news station at KMBC, here is the official, ultimate guide of activities and festivities associated with this year's July 4th Extravaganza! 






Enjoy live music, food, carnival rides and games at KC Riverfest. There will also be special children’s activities and a fireworks show. The event is at Richard L. Berkley Park. 

- If you arrive between 4-5 p.m., admission is free. 
- After 5 p.m., admission is $5 and children 12 and under are free.


The Big Bang!
You can enjoy water views, sky divers and a kid’s carnival with games and inflatables at The Big Bang! There will also be a free concert with music from Backroad Anthem along with a MILITARY TRIBUTE and a fireworks show with simulcast music on 94.9 FM. 

- The event is being held at Longview Lake’s Shelter #13 site. 
- Gates open at 5:30 p.m., the concert is at 6:30 p.m. 
- Fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. 
- Admission is free.


Star Spangled Spectacular
The Star Spangled Spectacular at Corporate Woods in Overland Park will have food vendors, a children’s pavilion with inflatable games, live music and a fireworks display.

- The fireworks show will start at 9:40 p.m. 
- A simulcast of music on 710 AM & 103.7 FM.
- Admission is free.


Enjoy interpretive demonstrations highlighting early life on the 19th century onIndependence Day at Fort Osage . Frontier with musket and cannon demonstrations and patriotic speeches.

- The site will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
- Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children (5-13) and $3 for seniors (62 and older).

You can also party like it’s the 1850s at Missouri Town 1855. Guests will enjoy interpretive demonstrations to see how our ancestors participated in patriotic festivities and fun.
You can even be part of the town parade. There will also be children’s games, live music and dancers.

- The town is open 9 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. 
- Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children (5-13) and seniors. 
- Children under 5 are free.

(Side Note) Please take a moment to thank a Veteran for their tremendous and extensive sacrifice in serving our country to protect our freedom. Please also endure a moment of silence for our loved ones that have selflessly paid the ultimate price in giving their life for our freedom and thinking of those deployed overseas whom cannot be here to celebrate with us.
